Pet owners will know just how intuitive doggos can be and may even believe that they understand more than they let on. Truth is, they’re absolutely right in their thinking. 

Research shows that dogs respond to verbal and nonverbal cues the same way a two-year-old child would. They also experience similar emotions. Seeing familiar faces – both human and canine – trigger positive feelings in your dog’s brain. 

Speaking of which, MRIs of canine brains have determined that they can even understand the difference in our voices and can pick up when we’re happy, sad, or in pain.

Truth is, dogs are intelligent and emotional creatures just like humans, and so deserve as much love and attention, if not more. Taking them out for regular walks will keep them happy, healthy and their behaviour in check.
