Energetic Dogs

Got yourself an unruly pooch? While perhaps some breeds are more so than others, most are energetic in some way or another. How do you know when it’s worth addressing, though? If your dog is overly hyper or excited, barks incessantly, or nips at you – it may be worth investigating their behaviour further.

If you’re to find an effective solution to the problem, it’s important to understand what’s causing your pet to act out in the first place. Below are a few considerations:

  • Lack of stimulation
  • Improper diet
  • Conditioned behaviour
  • Lack of interaction
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Cognitive issues

To ensure your dog’s wellbeing and get them back to their normal selves, there are a few things you can try at home. For more concerning issues, seek advice from your vet.

  • Exercise them regularly
  • Ensure a nutritious diet
  • Don’t reward bad behaviour
  • Spend more time together
  • Stay calm during outbursts
  • Try aromatherapy
