Raw Food Versus Regular Kibble

With such a wide variety of dog food available, how are you to know what’s best for your pet? Your pooch might have a preference – lucky you! For others, choosing their food may come down to time and budget constraints. Either way, we only want the best for our dogs and keeping them happy and healthy starts with their diet. So, raw food or regular kibble?

Like with most food types, each come with their pros and cons. Raw food, for example, assures the purest form of nutrients, proteins, and flavours. It is more expensive to prep, though and can be a lengthy exercise. Kibble on the other hand is often more affordable but because it’s processed, flavour and nutrient content can be negatively affected.

Raw food puts the control back in your hands as you get to decide exactly what your dog consumes. If you choose to go this route, however, it’s important to talk to a nutritionist first. They’ll be able to advise you on what ingredients to consider or avoid.

You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to kibble and get to decide what flavour or type will best suit your canine. It’s important to always check the label, though to ensure it includes the right amount of nutrients and ingredients your dog will respond well to.
