Vegetables For Dogs

We’ve always been taught (but perhaps, not always convinced) that vegetables are great for our overall health. Well, they can be just as beneficial for canines, too. While your pet food should provide a balanced diet, given it includes only the freshest ingredients, there’s no harm in adding a veggie two for extra energy, improved gut health, and stronger bones.

As with most foods, it’s important not to overdo it. Think of vegetables as a supplement to a healthy diet, rather than a dominant ingredient. As a rule of thumb, ensure supplements only make up 10% of your dog’s diet. More than that could have an adverse effect.

So, you’re ready to introduce your doggo to some greens? Here are a few to get you started:

  • Kale
  • Pumpkin
  • Broccoli
  • Asparagus
  • Parsley
  • Carrots
  • Green Beans
  • Mushrooms
  • Zucchini
  • Sweet Potato
